Destiny of Destitute

By Hashim Yussuf Amao

Forsaken Fate
Derailing destiny
Agonic aches

Sometimes in June and July
When I exchange words with the most High
Bitterly, as I expressed my plights

With salty water trickling down my face
I pleaded against my unbearable pains
Which continues to chokes like a deadly train

I pleaded for my worries to dissolve,
For my anguish unfound
And my soul to reunite with joy.

All nights I waited
All days I hoped
All months, with untold thought.

Longing for reply that would ease my worries
And divine smile that would open floor for victories
Alas, the green light came!

That my hopes will be renewed
That my misery will wiped off
As I shall reunite with my lost joy.
