Detached Destiny

By Robert Pegel

Let it go.  Taste the sorrow smell the rain.
Just hoping for winds of change.
If my mind’s right there’s less pain.
Blown away from the outside but healing
begins inside. Watch the world moving in slow motion.
Draw a breath contemplating nothingness.
No longer a prisoner of my emotions. The inner voice
speaks softly so the profound can be heard in a whisper.
The world roars.  Don’t come undone listening to the noise.
Leave the madness for the ones living on the level left behind.
You are a work in progress.  Detached but never more aware.
Open to the signs sending you forward.
