The Music of My Mind

By Diana K. Kurniawan

Synapses reach my receptors
Nerves coming together in unison
Ganglions speeding in solemn tones
There is an entity flowing behind me

Fleeting darkness sings melodies
Presence of evil surrounds my soul
My spirit drops to instability
The musical forces are against me

But,…

Staccato violin rhythmically plucks
Into my ears, soothing me to calm
Sopranos of angels, choirs me to peace
Rebuking depressive tones of negativity

Fortissimo joy, ringing in my ears
Ecclesiastical music destroying curses
Opening my eyes to the bright light
The heavens hymns my mind to life
